Beaufort MMA has been a mixed martial arts school since its inception as “McCullough Submission Fighting” in 1997. Although the style of Zanshindo (the curriculum that our school uses to give rank) is a mixed martial arts system, there is also a heavy emphasis on grappling. For this reason, we recommend and encourage every student to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fundamentals. Our coaches and students train both Gi and No-Gi and compete with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as well. Beaufort MMA also hosts several BJJ seminars and tournaments throughout the year. If you are interested primary in jiu jitsu (submission grappling) and do not prefer the striking (boxing or kickboxing) martial arts, you are welcome to try our Brazilian Jit Jitsu classes. The classes meet Tuesday and Thursday at 8pm and the instructors are belted under Gracie Barra’s style of BJJ. The class is intended for all levels of grapplers, but we strongly emphasize the basic foundations of the Gracie Barra style of BJJ. Share this:
