At the Ketsugo Fighting Arts Center we offer a variety of classes!

GROUP CLASS SCHEDULE Adults & Teens: Mon & Weds 7:30-8:30pm, Sat 12:00-12:45pm Kids: Mon & Weds & Fri 5:30-6:15pm, Sat 12:00-12:45pm Special Needs: Sat 11:00-11:45am & Sat 1:00-1:45pm

PRIVATE LESSONS: are available for Adults, Teens, Kids and Special Needs. Schedule Lessons at your convenience!

For those who seek the path to Black Belt we offer traditional martial arts classes. Our style is a blend or combination (“ketsugo”) of fighting arts, and our classes cover a broad range of topics. For those who want to just learn individual techniques and Self Defense we offer effective and realistic training, and a good workout!

Students who do not desire Belt Rankings can still work out and train in our Martial Arts without pressure to Rank. We typically train in individual techniques in repetitions, and in teams for conditioning and self defense training. We still believe in Katas and Formal Drilling, as we understand their value in real martial arts training (there is a post on that from Shihan Mike elsewhere for deeper explanation). However we understand that not everyone wants to learn in that traditional fashion. Those who do, train in Kata and their Belt required drills in the Advanced Classes. All Self Defense is considered “Basic” as far as we’re concerned – good Self Defense should be simple and effective!

At Ketusgo the group classes are co-ed and all ages…just like real life. In the street you don’t get to choose who attacks you. Attackers come in all ages and sexes!

Traditional Classes typically follow this format:
 OPEN CLASS WARM UPS OPENING DRILLS CONDITIONING SPECIALTY DRILLS KATAS SELF DEFENSE FALLS & THROWS KUMITE (fist & feet sparring) RANDORI (throwing & grappling sparring) CLOSING DRILLS CLOSE CLASS / ZEN

If we have any students not following the Belt Ranks we typically follow this format: OPEN CLASS WARM UPS OPENING DRILLS (individual techniques, bag work) CONDITIONING SELF DEFENSE
 (which can include Falls & Throws) CLOSE CLASS / ZEN
