Electronic Arts is considered as one of the most innovative game developers. Their new game confirms this statement. EA Sports MMA or EA Sports Mixed Martial Arts is the new game from the genre of Mixed Martial Arts. This one of the rarest genre in gaming world. EA Sports MMA is under the development of EA Tiburon and will be published by Electronic Arts. Although the release dates are not confirmed, but the game may release in 2010 for the platforms of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will exciting to play as games from this genre very rarely. First details for the game were released on June 1 2009. Electronic Arts announced that this new fighting game would be developed by EA Sports brand. Peter Moore president of EA Sports referred in a press conference as saying “Fans have been begging EA Sports to get into the cage, and EA Sports MMA will put them in control of the sport’s unique combat experience. He further explained the game is an interactive capture of the raw intensity ofthe mixed martial arts, is why it is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. As of 14 June, 2009 no updates were revealed on the official site of EA Sports MMA. There is only one link, which directs you to EA Sports MMA forum and other for the sign up of EA Sports newsletter. Some of the most famous mixed martial arts fighters are linked with the game. Some of the fighters to be featuring in the game are Bobby Lashley, Gegard Mousasi, Tim Sylvia, Randy Couture and Benji Radach. Leaving the above fighters some other fighters are also rumored to be with the project like, Muhammed Lawal, Renato Sobral, Jake Shields and Jason Miller. There is a war going on between EA Sports and UFC, a US based mixed martial arts organization, which controls over 90% of the mixed martial arts industry. Dana White president of UFC declared that the war is over the development of the game and any UFC fighter who sign with EA will be blacklisted from UFC.Only exception is Randy Couture because of the pre-existing contractual arrangements between Couture and UFC. White blamed EA of acting in bad faith as previously EA refused to accept UFC branded MMA as a real sport and later they got motivated by the commercial success of , published by THQ. EA is quite on all these comments by UFC. However, leave all the wars behind and get ready to fight, coz EA Sports MMA will give something not given by any fighting game.
