Fight Time 23 – Mayhem in Miami

Muay Thai

Muay Thai Class As the national sport of Thailand, Muay Thai is similar to kickboxing, but also employs knees, elbows, and clinch work.  At Unit 2 we stress ring control and ring movement in our classes so that if you choose to compete you will be well prepared. The classes are taught in our Muay Thai room which features a 26-foot competition boxing ring, heavy bags, and large mat space for shadow boxing. Our instructors teach both traditional Muay Thai and Muay Thai for MMA fighting. You will learn proper foot work, fight strategy, punching, kicking, and clinch.  Our classes are taught by World Champions, some of who have trained and fought in Thailand. Unit 2 classes are broken into Beginner and Advanced programs.  This allows Unit 2 to accommodate different skill levels. There are no prerequisites to enter the Beginner Class which focuses on the fundamentals of Muay Thai. The beginner Thai boxing classes are one hour in duration.  It is open to participants of all skill levelsincluding people who have never trained in martial arts before. In the Advanced Classes your martial arts skills are honed. Classes are longer running 1 to 1.5 hours. In this class champions are forged.  Instruction focuses on advanced techniques with optional sparring sessions.  These classes are appropriate for professional Muay Thai fighters, Muay Thai enthusiasts, and MMA fighters.
