Major League Baseball players tweeted out support and tuned in to games between batting practice and their own games. Davis was on the cover of Sports Illustrated and highly sought after for interviews by almost every publication around the country. Young fans around the country stayed up past their bedtimes to watch games. But on Thursday, the Taney Dragons were eliminated from the Little League World Series after an impressive team from Illinois held off a strong comeback attempt from the Dragons. They gave everyone something to root for. Davis showed that a lot has changed since girls had to sue the league just to be able to play. And hopefully, despite all of the pressure and all of the attention, they did what kids are supposed to do in youth sports: Had fun.
