Muay Thai is a combat sport from the muay martial arts of Thailand that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. This physical and mental discipline which includes combat on foot is known as “the art of eight limbs” because it is characterized by the combined use of fists, elbows, knees, shins and feet, being associated with a good physical preparation that makes a full-contact fighter very efficient. When you come to a class at Tilt MMA you will be learning striking arts. Punching, kicking, knees and elbows. You will also be learning clinch work (close quarters punching and knees) Classes will consist or heavy bag training along with pad work. There will also be the opportunity to spa with other equal level students.
has a variety of heavy bags and a nice large matted area for training purposes. We will also use focus pads for learning fast combination techniques and larger bags for practicing leg and body kicks
Boxing gloves can be provided for beginners as well as shin guards. We recommend buying gloves and shin guards once you have signed up full time. A mouth guard is highly recommended if you intend to spa with other students
