Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)

Beginnings: The valetudo (valetodo in Portuguese) was born in Brazil in the second decade of the twentieth century. School Gracie family (which they say, is founder of brazilian jiu-jitsu) organized tournaments of fighting without rules or time limit between schools in different fighting styles to show that his style was the most effective. Later, in the early 90s, the company Seg Sport organized in the US the "Ultimate Fighting Champioship": the first UFC with the slogan "anything goes" (it all) that pitted fighters of different martial displinas and contact sports fight. Those first UFC were very different from today: the rules were even less restrictive, there were no weight categories, the fighting were not divided into rounds, had no time limit for combat or mitts were used. In those early UFC fighters coming from disciplines such as wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and shoot completely dominated Wrestilingcompetitions MMA (mixed martial arts) through working gripping techniques, dams and projections. Fighters disciplines such as karate, boxing, muay thai, etc ... whose technique was focused on the beating, they were unable to fend off the grips, projections and ground fighting. This made diciplinas fighters begin training striking displinas of ground fighting, grip and projections. This is just the domain of the fighters wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and shoot Wrestiling that saw forced to complete his fighting style training disciplines of scrimmage. This evolution led to the creation of training systems for valetudo as Figthing cross or full figthingel, working techniques striking, grappling, dams, projections and ground fighting; although most of the fighters continue to train various disciplines separately to improve their weaknesses. The best example of this evolutionthe fight is Fedor Emelianenko: champion heavyweight Pride, considered by many the most versatile and complete fighter in the history of valetudo or MMA. UFC and Pride: Until the demise of PRIDE in 2007 valetudo could be divided into two giant organizations: Pride and UFC. UFC was born in the US in 1993, brought from Brazil by Rorion Gracie. In Brazil since 1920, was known as "The Gracie Challenge" but in the US the name was changed to Ultimate Fighting Championship, abbreviated UFC. The result was a total success, very quickly became a popular sport, although it was not until he decided to UFC rules when really started to raze also on TV. The reason for these changes is that at first, the audience was bored with long struggles on the ground, with no time limit. Why the new rules were intended to give more spectacle and more quickly to the fighting. UFC fights take place in an octagonal cage. The rounds consist5 minutes with a break of 1 minute. The fights are 3 rounds, except for championships where they can get up to 5 rounds. Pride Fighting Championship was born in Japan in 1997. The Japanese quickly snagged the UFC and in a few years Japan believe their tournament. The popularity and prestige of Pride grew to become the largest and most competitive level of MMA organization. Bouts performed in a ring of 4 strings. There are common rules between the two organizations as beating on the genitals, not sting the eyes, not allow butting and kicking not unlike when in the ground. Unlike in UFC, Pride, elbowing not allowed on the face. Pride fighters are allowed to wear shorts at UFC allowed only lycra. When the wrestlers are lying on the floor and the referee feels that the fight dims can apply the rule "stand up" which is to paralyze the fighting and allowboth fighters are incorporated. As fighters began combining fighting styles, the weight direfencia began to be a very large potential difference and organizations were forced to set weight categories. On April 8, 2007 PRIDE announced its disappearance as an active MMA competition. DREAM: On February 13, 2008 in Japan began a new tournament called DREAM which claims to be the successor of PRIDE. Some of the most emblematic MMA fighters as Mark Hunt Jerome LeBanner and participate in this new competition. DREAM also exist in different categories based on the weight of the fighter. Bouts consist of a first round of 10 minutes and a second round of 5, after this time the battle will be decided by judges decision. Elbowing not allowed in the head or kicked if the wrestler is lying on the suelo.Si there 15kg. or more of the weight difference entr two fighters canillazos not be allowed inthe head of a fighter on the ground. WVR: World Victory Road was born of buying the rights to UFC PRIDE by 15 October 2007. Competes directly with DREAM for being the successor of PRIDE in popularity ratings in Japan. Josh Barnett and Kevin Randleman, former heavyweight champions in UFC are part of this competition that also rescues several PRIDE fighters missing. Trivia: In Spain the valetudo is a sport frowned upon by society. Since its creation was branded as a sport and too unruly beast. However, in countries like USA, Holland and Japan it is causing furor and surpassing in audience more sports media contact: Boxing and Muay Thai. Another curious fact is that the number of fatalities in valetudo from the day of its creation is just one, while in boxing and one thousand fatalities is exceeded (it is also true that boxing takes more years to occur and that celebrate morefights per year). In spite of all the problems in Spain MMA tournament is also held, albeit with much less level, UFC or Pride: KO Arena. most important tournaments MMA world: United States: Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) Elite Xtreme Combato (EliteXC) King Of The Cage (KOTC) ICON Sport International Fighting League (IFL) Japan: DREAM World Victory Road (WVR) Pancrase Shooto relevant organizations in the world: Cage Rage (UK) Finnfight (Finland) Cage Warriors (UK) European Vale Tudo (Sweden) KO Arena (Spain) Mecca FC (Brazil) Jungle Fight (Brazil) Cancelled: PRIDE Fighting Championship (PRIDE FC) Cage Fury Fighting Championships (CFFC) Big KO's: The 2 KO's fastest and impressive: I like: I like Loading ... related ~ by Jaski on Sunday, June 1, 2008.
