Akshay Kumar and Sidharth Malhotra starrer, Brothers is releasing soon and we had a chance to get some behind the scenes news from director Karan Malhotra! 

Question: Where did you get the inspiration for Akshay’s tattoos?

KM: Akshay is playing a catholic, so my crew went to small lanes in Bandra and spoke to people. They clicked pictures of the tattoos they had. A lot of inspiration was taken from the locals on how they dress, speak and behave. In the movie, Akshay has a tattoo of Jesus on his arm and a cross on his wrist.

Question: What was it like to work with Sidharth Malhotra?

KM: He gave me more than he could which is great. The film required so much hard work and dedication and we all gave it our best.  It is a very difficult role and Sidharth gave it his all and more, so it wasn’t too difficult for me to direct him.

Question: What was it like working with Akshay Kumar?

KM: Akshay was an indispensible casting for the film.  I have been quite eager to work with Akshay for the last two decades. He has not been using a body double since 1990s and that makes him one of the best action heroes of India, in our time.  I am very lucky and honored to have worked with him.
