The Dojos
Sowakan Dojo (Maple Ridge) and Sokushinkan Dojo (Vancouver) offer associate membership. You are free to train at both dojos for no additional cost.We are non-commercial and non-profit; this allows us to offer very competitive fees for our training. Our dojo fees are used entirely for the purposes of the dojo, like room rental fees and to bring guest instructors to Vancouver. Both Dojo’s are registered with the in Japan.
SOWAKAN DOJO (MAPLE RIDGE)
Located in the Multi Purpose room of the Liesure Centre, the Sowakan Dojo was first established on September 1990 by Keith Taylor Sensei.
In 1992 supplied the Maple Ridge Dojo with the name Sowakan.
SOKUSHINKAN (VANCOUVER)
Located on the top floor of the historic Vancouver Japanese Language School which was founded in 1906. From the early 1880s, early Japanese pioneers to Canada began to settle and work in the Powell Street area, which later became known as “Japan Town”.
