Up there is Indiana (the girl), Serge (aka Bear), and off to the side is Professor Steve Lin (certified ninja and superhero, & the owner and Head Instructor of , in Markham On.)  I’m Matt (Indiana’s dad; also a photographer, writer and teacher, and occasionally I am Indiana’s uke – which means Indiana practices her ninja moves on me!

This site is designed as a kind of witness to our experiences as a daughter and dad learning Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), but also as a guide for parents who have their kids enrolled in BJJ/MMA, or are looking to do so.  It sounds simple, but we want to tackle more than each other!  This site will also tackle important issues like safety in sports, parenting, proper nutrition, physical, mental and emotional health for kids, schooling, and relationships.
