Hi everyone, my name is Indiana. I’m a competitive rock climber, and I recently started to do Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at . And I LOVE IT! I wanted to make sure I chose a second sport that didn’t interfere with my climbing training, but also complimented my training. BJJ is a perfect fit! My flexibility and core strength really help me, but even with all my climbing training, I’m exhausted by the end of my BJJ class! It’s a great workout.
After just a few classes I feel way more confident about my ability to defend myself if needed. My dad and mom signed me up for private classes, so I sometimes have three coaches working with just me, including, of course, Professor Lin – and he’s AMAZING! I learn so much in one class, and I go to bed every night thinking about what I learned, and I sometimes practice at home with my dad.
I feel like I’m becoming a much better athlete overall. BJJ is improving my strength and conditioning, my confidence, my balance, coordination, and flexibility, as well as giving me really good tools for dealing with conflict in a positive and safe way.
Check out this video from my THIRD class at Lin Martial Arts! Enjoy!
