Healthy Eating for MMA   Eating healthy for Mixed Martial Arts is sometimes just as hard as training for MMA…But the best part of in Hampton roads, Norfolk area is that, we make it easy for your to learn martial arts.  Healthier eating by choosing the right foods, when to have a meal, and how much to take in is all on you.  But I’m going to help you as much as I can, so keep reading and stay posted to get tips on how you can maximize your Having more energy, feeling better, weight loss, and keeping your mind and body razor sharp, are just a few of the results you’ll see from staying on a healthy diet. Right now I want to share with you some very basic nutritional tip bits that will help you achieve some of these benefits. Healthy Points for Healthy tip #1: Try to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day, every 2 hours.  Now, I’m not very big on calorie counting or measuring how much you eat, but you shouldn’t stuff yourself to death whenever it’s time to chow down.  By eating smaller portions youspeed up your metabolism, hence burn more calories.  Eat til your almost full…not stuffed. Healthy tip #2: Skip eating foods and drinks that contain large amounts of Salt and Sugar.  Salt contains lots of sodium which retains water, when you should by losing it, if your trying to shed that extra weight…And pass on foods like chips, salted nuts, and fast foods. Lots of sugar adds to unhealthy habits too like, reducing the progress of weight loss, and causes unwanted ups and downs of energy.  Avoid sodas, candy, and those late nite frozen dinners. Healthy tip #3: Eat good carbohydrates and whole gains such as, brown rice, yams, and beans, which can give you lots of energy and keep you going throughout the day and in your because good carbs are digested more slowly. Healthy tip #4: Drink lots of WATER!  When I was fighting MMA, I used to drink 2 to 3 gallons of water before a fight to help me lose weight.  Now I’m not telling you to drink 3 gallons of water, but drinking 8 glasses to agallon of water a day can greatly improve your Mixed Martial Arts training.  Drinking water regularly also helps flush out your system by getting rid of unwanted toxins, helps with weight loss, regulates your body temperature, and protects your joints and muscles. To Eat and Not to Eat Below are a list of foods to eat and avoid. Healthy Foods: Sweet potatoes, broccoli, yogurt (unsweetened), salmon, chicken, beans, eggs, brown rice, bananas, bell peppers, tuna, turkey.
