Yet, most people think the gym is the only way to get in shape, to get ripped, and to look good. This belief couldn’t be farther from the truth. For those men that desire a body which women will also desire, there is a way, and while it still requires dedication and work, it provides other rewards which will keep you going. The answer? Martial Arts. Finding a School The key to making Martial Arts work for you (and getting you laid so often you have to buy a second day-planner), is to find the right type of school. What you want is to find a school, of any style, that focuses on conditioning. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), boxing, and Kick Boxing schools will usually have a strong focus on getting in shape. Skills You’ll Learn The number of schools that specifically teachMMA has increased along with the league’s popularity. MMA schools will include training in grappling techniques as well as “stand-up” technique, usually some form of kick boxing. They train actual cage fighters, so their focus on conditioning is a necessity. Training Everybody knows Rocky, but you don’t have to fight a seven-foot tall Russian guy just to get in shape. Boxing schools, like MMA schools, are training fighters to enter the ring, but do not expect every student to share this goal. You can train with them just as hard as you want and see the same results they do. Whether or not you step in the ring is up to you. Conditioning Kick boxing schools are going to include many of the same training exercises as the MMA and boxing schools, with the slight difference being that they won’t include grappling like MMA, but do include kicking unlike boxing. Despite these differences, a central focus on conditioning remains. Don’t Forget Karate And of course, don’t forget Karate. Karateschools will vary more than the other types of schools listed in terms of focus on conditioning but the schools that are serious are undeniably bad ass, and also have the ultra cool Zen-buddhist state of serenity to boot. Loud mouths need not apply. The real beauty of martial arts training, however, is that once you have the basics down, you can train on your own time anywhere you want as much as you want. It is strongly recommended that you continue training at a school but to also augment the in class training with exercises or a routine of your own. Exercises you could incorporate in a routine include push ups (a must), various sit-up/crunch/ab exercises, jump rope (very very good for building stamina), squats with or without weights, jogging with short intervals of sprinting (also great for stamina), cycling (also with intervals of sprinting), and shadow boxing. Combine this with a routine of exercises like those described above with regular in-class training and you will becomeripped before you can say “why yes, I would love a threesome with you and your hot identical twin sister.” Related Items Comments Comments says: […] don’t do it.
